Contest Rules and Overview

Objective

This monthly contest is designed to recognize and reward the single best trading idea submitted by a member of the Big Money Movers (BMM) community. The evaluation process is transparent, combining community sentiment with expert analysis from our mentors.

Contest Period:

Start: The 1st day of each month.

End: The last day of each month.

How to Enter

Create a New Post: Start a new post in the main community discussion channel.

Outline Your Idea: Clearly present your trading idea, ensuring it meets all the "Submission Requirements" listed below.

Submission Requirements

To be eligible, your contest submission post must include the following five components:

Asset & Direction: The ticker symbol and whether you are going Long (Buy) or Short (Sell) (e.g., Long $AAPL).

Thesis / Rationale: A clear explanation of why you believe this trade will be successful, based on technical analysis, fundamental news, or both.

Entry Zone: The specific price or price range where the trade should be initiated.

Profit Zone(s): The specific price or prices where you plan to take profit.

Risk Management: The specific price at which the trade idea is invalidated (stop-loss) and should be exited to limit losses.

Note: Incomplete submissions will not be eligible for judging.

Judging Process & Official Scorecard

The contest follows a two-stage evaluation process which will be done by our community mentors.

Stage 1: Community Shortlisting Throughout the month, all submitted ideas are voted on by the community. At the end of the contest period, the top five posts with the most accumulated likes will be shortlisted for final judging.

Stage 2: Mentor Evaluation The five shortlisted ideas will be formally evaluated by our mentors using the official 30-point scorecard below. The submission with the highest total score will be declared the winner.

Official Scorecard System And Categories

1. Trade Rationale & Quality (10 Points)

Thesis & Analysis 

This evaluates the intellectual rigor and clarity of the trading idea itself.

Trade Rationale: Assesses the depth and logic of your reasoning. Is the idea backed by clear technical indicators, chart patterns, or fundamental catalysts?

Quality of Idea: Focuses on the uniqueness and insightfulness of the market observation.

Defined Parameters 

Points are awarded for a complete and actionable trading plan with clearly defined levels.

Entry & Profit Zones: Rewards well-justified and specific price levels for initiating the trade and taking profits.

Risk Management: Recognizes a clearly defined stop-loss level that demonstrates a thoughtful approach to managing potential losses.

Clarity & Professionalism

Assesses how clearly and concisely the idea is presented. Is it well-formatted and easy for other members to understand your plan at a glance?

2. Trade Performance & Outcome (10 Points)

This category rewards disciplined execution and real-world results.

Execution & Risk: Points are awarded for how the trade unfolds while respecting the stated risk management level. A trade that is stopped out as planned demonstrates discipline and can still score points here.

Fulfillment: Measures the trade's progress toward its profit target(s) during the contest period.

Contest Rules

All participants must adhere to the following rules to ensure fair play.

Anti-Spamming Policy: Any member found to be excessively spamming the channels to promote their idea will be disqualified. There is no set limit on posts; disqualification will be based on the sole discretion of the BMM mentors.

Active Membership: All participants must hold an active BMM membership in good standing throughout the contest and award period.

General Conditions

Members may submit multiple ideas, but only one idea per member can be declared the winner each month.

The final scores and decisions of the judging panel are final.

This contest is for educational and recognition purposes. All members are responsible for their own trades and financial decisions.

Monthly Prize

The winner of the Alpha Idea Contest will receive a $1,000 cash prize. The prize will be paid to the winner via PayPal or a Bank Wire Transfer.

Winner Announcement

The winner and a breakdown of their score will be officially announced and celebrated during the live members-only webinar on the first Thursday of the following month.
